Update From Ken (Feb 23rd, 2004): "Although I wasn't badly injured, it is a frightening thing when you don't know how long you will be there and you are getting very cold. As well as a broken and dislocated right ankle, I have a fractured right collar bone (through an old fracture line so it's pretty stable), I badly sprained my left ankle and have a couple of cracked ribs and bruising everywhere. When I arrived in Fort William and they took my jacket off it was discovered that I had stuck my ice axe through my chest wall and out the other side without hitting anything important. I'd lost a reasonable amount of blood so this contributed to me getting cold/shocked. I had fantastic care in Fort William then was transferred to Glasgow by ambulance on the Monday evening."
