Photographs of China
by Kimo Quaintance
Someone in Beijing once told me that if you stayed in China for a week, you could write a book. If you stayed for a month you could write an article. If you stayed for a year, it would be difficult to write anything at all.
In two years of working for the Chinese Academy of Sciences, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to experience the incredible diversity of landscapes and cultures contained in this one country. China is a remarkably complex place and one that is constantly revealing new sides of herself to the bewildered traveler. From the deserts of the west, to the crowded cities of the east, the jungles of the south and the endless farms of the interior, surprises await anyone who has a single image in their mind of China.
Below are links to some of the photos I took while in China.
