Heading east on North River Drive we finally saw a virtual carpet of Sandhill cranes WAY OFF in the distance to the south. How were we going to get over there?

Flashing past my eyes was a road sign that looked very promising. Crane View Road! Let's take it! A quick backing up and a right turn later we were finally getting closer to the mass of cranes.

We hit the jackpot at the intersection of Crane View Road and Wild Life Road! It was a clear message that we came to love over the next few days. Wild Life Road turned out to be gravel covered, several miles in length and with as close to NO TRAFFIC as we could hope for.
